Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley. Acacia trees and bushes decorate the hotel grounds, adding to the African ambiance.
The resort is not only home to resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on our expansive lawns.
The main public area building was designed artistically which snakes its way between the trees with long and graceful curves.
Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort features 21 two-story cottages aligned in a crescent shape.
The buildings have colorful stones covered in climbing vines and flowers, the unusual-looking roofs form sweeping violet arcs over the structures.
Each cottage in Sopa Lodge Naivasha has two rooms per floor. Bottom floor rooms have two queen-sized beds and include a lavishly furnished living room which opens onto the gardens.
Top floor rooms have a single king-sized bed and a furnished balcony with wrought iron railings. Each room has its own fully-equipped private bathroom.
When you are not enjoying the comforts of your cottage, you are welcome to have a drink or bite to eat in the huge dining annex with an outdoor patio, poolside restaurant or one of the two bars. Or opt for extra relaxation in the in-house health spa; one of the few Spas in Lake Naivasha.
