A tranquil, hushed and cool refuge framed by Mount Kilimanjaro and the rolling, volcanic landscapes of the deep green Chyulu Hills, Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge in immerses you in stunning beauty and exhilarating adventures while surrounding you with every modern comfort. The first safari lodge ever built in a Kenya National Park, the Kilaguni serena safari lodge is superbly situated in the largest national park in Kenya.
The dining area, bar and some rooms overlook a waterhole which is frequently visited by herds of elephant, buffalo and other game found in the Tsavo West National Park.
Strategically located midway between the Kenyan capital city Nairobi and its coastal town of Mombasa,only about 3 hours drive from each.
The Chaimu Crator and Shetani Lava Flow are nearby (a massive 50sq km prehistoric lava bed) as well as the Rhino sanctuary.
Accommodation
As you enter your room or suite at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge, you feel the ancient stillness of Kenya’s Tsavo West National Park wash over you.
Our 56 guest rooms including five suites are located throughout the classic volcanic stone lodge, either in a two-storey block overlooking the water hole, a series of charming cottages, or in a lodging of luxury suites.
Offering views of the water hole or Chyulu Hills, our exceptionally spacious accommodations are beautifully appointed with natural stone walls and locally inspired furnishings, fabrics and artwork.

Dining
The central dining room and the alfresco rock-built bar at Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge were beautifully designed and decorated in the local style to offer an unforgettable dining experience.
The dining room features a stone terrace overlooking the wildlife-filled water hole and the bar offers comfortable day beds with majestic views of the rolling Chyulu Hills.
Each dish is crafted from the finest meats, dairy products, fruits and vegetables sourced from the communities bordering Tsavo Park. Breakfast is complimentary to all hotel guests.
In typical safari-style, we offer a ‘full English breakfast’ as well as European options. Breakfast and lunch are presented in buffet-style and feature a wide range of international choices encompassing meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian selections.
Our table d’hôte dinner menus feature a salad buffet, soup, entrée, pudding, cheese and biscuits and tea or coffee. Guests may also enjoy theme nights with specialties ranging from pasta and Mongolian-style stir-fry, BBQ and spiced roast to Kenyan favourites like “Nyama Choma” (traditionally roasted meats), “Sukuma” (local kale cooked with tomatoes, onions, garlic and coriander), “Posho” (maize) and other local delicacies.
